String of Pearls

String of Pearls – Senecio rowleyanus

Size: Strands up to 7 in. long

The String of Pearls plant has trailing stems that can grow 2–3 feet long. It received its name from the specialized pea-shaped leaves that grow along the length of each stem. There is a thin band of dark green tissue on the side of each leaf known as a “window” that allows light to enter inside each leaf to aid in photosynthesis. String of Pearls produces fragrant blooms during the summer and grows quickly.
