Pinguicula esseriana is a butterwort species native to San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It forms carnivorous leaves in the summer and succulent leaves in the winter and prefers a loose substrate. In its carnivorous state, P. esseriana forms “drool edges” on its leaves so that dew and trapped prey won’t slide off.

Description

Size and packing method: You will receive a young bare root plant about 0.5 inches in diameter, carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel. Plants are more green at the moment. If selecting with soil mix, you will receive a little over one cup of our prepackaged Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix in addition to the bare root plant. This quantity of soil is roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.

Growing requirements

Mature size: About 1 inch in diameter
