Pinguicula conzattii is a Mexican Butterwort native to the state of Oaxaca. It was discovered by Alfred Lau in 1987 and known as sp. ‘Santiago Nuyoo’ until it was formally described in 2003. P. conzattii is named after the Italian botanist, Cassiano Conzattii. Please note: Succulent rosettes currently available, see size information below.

Description

Size and packing method: You will receive a bare root plant about 0.25 inches in diameter, carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel. If selecting with soil mix, you will receive a little over one cup of our prepackaged Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix in addition to the bare root plant. This quantity of soil is roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.

Growing requirements

Mature size: Up to 4 inches in diameter in ideal conditions
Light: Partial sun or grow light equivalent
Soil: Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, fish food, or diluted foliar fertilizer such as Maxsea every 2-3 weeks
Humidity: 40-70% with adequate airflow
Water: While in its carnivorous phase, provide enough distilled water for the media to remain damp. Reduce watering and allow the media to dry out regularly once the succulent rosette begins to form.
Temperature: 55-85°F
Dormancy: Technically none, however carnivorous leaves are replaced by a smaller succulent rosette for part of the year
