Pinguicula emarginata is a relatively small Mexican butterwort. The leaf margins curl inward causing the leaves to have a pronounced cup shape.  P. emarginata flowers are quite unique among butterworts with their jagged edges and bright veining.

He grew four friends from the central root over the course of the first year, forming a little clusters of these guys. Then they started blooming. With the exception of mid winter, they bloom constantly! Often I will get two blooms at once, but I have had the occasional set of six at once. I chose to grow it on a lava rock with moss in a special terrarium I set up to keep the humidity high, and have not been disappointed. They are the cluster near the top right of the picture. When my new tank arrives, I will be transplanting them without the rock and changing the lighting a bit to see if I can keep them blooming more. Their flowers are just gorgeous!
