Pinguicula parvifolia is a Mexican Butterwort native to the states of Jalisco, Michoacán, and Guerrero. It was described in 1894 by Benjamin Lincoln Robinson. P. parvifolia forms a tight bulb-like rosette during its succulent phase and grows well in a mineral-based substrate that drains easily. Please note: Plants may ship in either their carnivorous or succulent phase, see size information below.
Description
Size and packing method: You will receive a bare root plant, carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel. Plants in their carnivorous phase are about 1 inch across and plants in their succulent phase (bulb) are roughly 0.25 inches across. If selecting with soil mix, you will receive a little over one cup of our prepackaged Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix in addition to the bare root plant. This quantity of soil is roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.
Growing requirements
Mature size: Up to 6 inches in diameter but usually smaller in cultivation
Light: Partial to full sun or grow light equivalent
Soil: Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, fish food, or diluted foliar fertilizer such as Maxsea every 2-3 weeks
Humidity: 40-70% with adequate airflow
Water: During its active growing season provide enough distilled water for the media to remain damp. During the succulent phase, reduce watering and allow media to dry out regularly
Temperature: 55-85°F
Dormancy: Carnivorous leaves die away for a portion of the year and the plant forms a small onion-like bulb just at or below the soil surface
Planting and adjustment instructions will be included with your shipment.

Definitely a cool ping to add to the collection with its really weird shaped leaves. I’m excited to finally have this and hopefully I can get it growing well. The nice sized plant came in nice and healthy!

I love this little ping! It arrived in a dormant state, healthy, and well packaged. I’m looking forward to watching it develop into its carnivorous state. This is my third ping from Curious Plants. I have a Weser and Cyclosecta that are thriving! I’m already planning my next order :)
