Maxsea 16-16-16 is a kelp-based fertilizer safe to use on many types of carnivorous plants (see exceptions below). It is so gentle it can even be used on live sphagnum moss! Maxsea comes in powder form and is best used as a foliar fertilizer. Foliar feeding is beneficial if the plants aren’t catching enough bugs on their own as it helps to make up for lost nutrients. To foliar feed carnivorous plants and boost growth, mix 1/4 of a teaspoon per gallon of water and lightly mist leaves with it every 3-4 weeks.
Description
Each packet contains 1 tablespoon of Maxsea which is enough to make 12 gallons of fertilizer at the recommended strength for carnivorous plants.
Species Exceptions:
We have found the following carnivorous plants to be especially sensitive even when applying 1/4 strength Maxsea fertilizer. These species may benefit from further dilution or using another feeding method: Drosera sessilifolia, Drosera slackii.

2 bags was enough for three small pots, but the third bag will come in handy if I transplant to larger pots.

I got osmocote pellets instead of maxsea. Osmocote is good and all but I wanted maxsea since it’s been harder to find in stores. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I can still use the osmocote for my nepenthes.

Thanks for you’re feedback Vaughn, sorry you received Osmocote instead of the Maxsea you ordered! It sounds like we must have swapped it accidentally. We reached out to you via email to get it corrected.
