Cephalotus follicularis (a.k.a. the Australian or Albany Pitcher Plant) is native to the coastal area of southwestern Australia. The first known reference to the plant is from a diary entry by botanist, Robert Brown, in 1802. The carnivorous pitchers of C. follicularis utilize several tactics for trapping and retaining prey, including semi-transparent “windows” in the lid, bright coloration, nectar, a toothed peristome, and slippery inner walls to name a few. In addition to the carnivorous pitchers, C. follicularis also produces flat, non-carnivorous leaves.

Healthy beautiful plant as always. My plants are always healthy and stunning. The plants are packed well every time. Shipping was quick. Unfortunately I have an issue with FedEx not delivering my packages to the proper address. I used to have them delivered to my work. But they left my package on the floor and someone threw it away. I had to go dumpster diving. So I switched it to my home. Well this package was on a porch that was 5 blocks from me on a porch who’s address didn’t even resemble mine. Luckily the persons porch it ended up on brought it to me. He said he seen the sticker ” live plant” and wanted to make sure I received it. I was very appreciative.

I have done business with Curious Plants many a time over the last several years. Their plants are always of high-quality and I’ve never been disappointed with what I have ordered and their packaging is fantastic.
