Cephalotus follicularis (a.k.a. the Australian or Albany Pitcher Plant) is native to the coastal area of southwestern Australia. The first known reference to the plant is from a diary entry by botanist, Robert Brown, in 1802. The carnivorous pitchers of C. follicularis utilize several tactics for trapping and retaining prey, including semi-transparent “windows” in the lid, bright coloration, nectar, a toothed peristome, and slippery inner walls to name a few. In addition to the carnivorous pitchers, C. follicularis also produces flat, non-carnivorous leaves.

Omg this cute lil plant arrived and I’m thrilled. I was a little iffy on the price, but that’s because I’m cheap…lol. However, this cute lil cephalotus was delivered to me in great condition, even through the shipping and handling. It was wrapped with love and care and I say this because of its condition upon arrival. It’s growing up and won’t be a baby long… they grow up so fast. I so love getting plants from people who love them and Curious Plant is definitely one of the great “carni” caregivers. I highly recommend this awesome seller and will definitely purchase from them again! I LOVE my new lil baby Tatiana…yes she and her other siblings have names. 🤪Crazy plnt mom….nope, not me.🙃😁
