Pinguicula laxifolia is known to inhabit only a small area in Tamaulipas, Mexico where it hangs from rocks shaded by mountain forest. It was described in 1995 by Hans Luhrs who simultaneously created a new section called Orchidioides in order to help classify the butterwort. In cultivation, the plant does well in a mineral-based substrate that drains easily.

Plant arrived in great condition. I followed the planting directions carefully and my plant adjusted well to it’s new home. Using a ziploc to maintain humidity for the first few days really seemed to make the plant happy.
