Pinguicula moranensis ‘A’ is a Mexican butterwort that can grow quite large with its summer rosette reaching 8 inches or more in diameter. The flowers are quite large as well. The plant will occasionally clump but can be difficult to propagate from pullings making it somewhat rare in cultivation. P. moranensis ‘A’ prefers a loose substrate.

Size and packing method: You will receive a bare root plant carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel. Small plants are about 1 inch in diameter and large plants about 2.5 inches in diameter. Plants are more green at the moment. If selecting with soil mix, you will receive a little over one cup of our prepackaged Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix in addition to the bare root plant. This quantity of soil is roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.

Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, or fish food every 2-3 weeks, only use fertilizer if you have plenty of experience growing carnivorous plants
Humidity: 50-80% with adequate airflow
Water: During it’s active growing season provide enough distilled water for the media to remain damp. During winter dormancy, reduce watering and allow media to dry out regularly
Dormancy: Reduce watering and photoperiod to encourage winter dormancy
