This rare form of Byblis guehoi was originally collected in the Beagle Bay area on the Dampier Peninsula of Western Australia. B. guehoi (also known as the Rainbow Plant) is an annual carnivorous plant that was discovered by Russ Guého in August 2004. The species was formally described in 2008 by John Conran and Allen Lowrie and is unique from other Byblis species in its tendency to grow branching stems.
