Nepenthes x hookeriana (a.k.a. Hooker’s Pitcher Plant) is a hybrid between N. ampullaria and N. rafflesiana. Some of these plants are seed grown and others are tissue cultured so there may be some variation in characteristics. Like its parents, N. x hookeriana prefers lowland conditions. Please note: This plant ships bare root, see size information below.

Description

Size and packing method: Extra small plants are 1-1.5 inches, small plants are 2-3 inches, medium plants are about 4 inches, and large plants are 5-7 inches. Measurements are from one leaf tip to the other excluding pitchers. Plants are shipped bare root, carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel.

Growing conditions

Light: Partial shade
Growing media: Long-fiber sphagnum moss
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, or fish food every 2-3 weeks, fertilizer such as Osmocote may be added to pitchers sparingly
Humidity: 50-90%
Water: Keep wet at all times, provide water that is low in salts and minerals such as rain or distilled water
Temperature: 65-85°F
Dormancy: None
