Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora is a variety of S. flava that produces red pitcher tubes and a yellow-green hood with red veins. With bright colors and plenty of nectar, the pitchers lure prey, sometimes filling so quickly they fall over from the excess weight! Pitchers grown in spring and summer are often the nicest looking. The flowers of S. flava var. rubricorpora are yellow and can have a rather unpleasant smell.
