Cephalotus follicularis ‘Hummer’s Giant’ is an Australian pitcher plant cultivar known for its large size. Compared with typical forms of Cephalotus, these plants are vigorous growers and can produce pitchers up to 2.5 inches in length. C. follicularus ‘Hummer’s Giant’ was established as a cultivar by John Hummer in 2000 in the December edition of the Carnivorous Plant Newsletter.

Description

Size and packing method: Plants are shipped potted and about 1 inch in diameter with juvenile pitchers and/or non-carnivorous leaves.

Growing conditions

Light: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, or fish food every 2 weeks. Foliar feeding every 2 weeks with Maxsea fertilizer is recommended and may help speed up the production of mature pitchers.
Humidity: 50-80%
Water: Keep damp at all times but not waterlogged, provide water that is low in salts and minerals such as rain or distilled water
Temperature: 33-85°F
Dormancy: Slows or stops growth during winter but foliage will remain intact
