Cephalotus follicularis (a.k.a. the Australian or Albany Pitcher Plant) is native to the coastal area of southwestern Australia. The first known reference to the plant is from a diary entry by botanist, Robert Brown, in 1802. The carnivorous pitchers of C. follicularis utilize several tactics for trapping and retaining prey, including semi-transparent “windows” in the lid, bright coloration, nectar, a toothed peristome, and slippery inner walls to name a few. In addition to the carnivorous pitchers, C. follicularis also produces flat, non-carnivorous leaves.

Beautiful plant as always. I absolutely love these sellers. I tried to upload more photo but it wouldn’t let me. I have purchased many plants from them and they all have been absolutely stunning. You can tell they take great care of there products. I am happy that they are only 3 hours from where I’m located. I love supporting my local businesses. I am a little nervous about growing this since I have read so many forums of people having issues. But I’m up for the challenge. I really wanted to show my beautiful sundews that I have purchased from them. I am expecting another plant so I might be able to post for that review. As always thanks again for another healthy plant and keep doing what you’re doing.

The plant showed up quickly and looks very healthy and larger than I thought. It is almost done with the acclimation stage. I’m looking forward to adding it to the rest of my carnivorous plants.

Beautiful specimen of Cephalotus follicularis! The plant came expertly packaged and is much larger than I expected. I highly recommend “Curious Plant”, and will be purchasing more specimens for my collection. Thanks.
