Pinguicula immaculata is native to the state of Nuevo León in Mexico where it can be found growing in arid regions on walls of gypsum next to agave. In cultivation, the plant does well in a mineral-based substrate that drains easily. Although it’s one of the smallest Mexican butterwort species, P. immaculata can be quite striking under strong light with its hairy green center and red leaf edges. Alexander Lux discovered the plant in 1990 and formally described it two years later with Sergio Zamudio.

A beautiful ping and I can’t wait to see it flower. I actually received 2 plants! One larger than the other. The smaller of the two is bouncing back a bit more slowly than the larger, but still doing well. As always, the pings were packed very well.

Beautiful little plants. I never expect perfection from a plant for obvious reasons (nothing is perfect) but these little guys could be in a photo shoot. I can’t wait for them to enjoy living with us.
