Description

Size and packing method: Sundews and butterworts are shipped bare root, carefully wrapped in damp paper towels. Bladderworts are shipped as a 1 inch plugs of soil. If selecting with soil mix(es), each bag of soil mix will be roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.

Growing requirements

Butterwort

Light: Partial to full sun or grow light equivalent
Soil: Mexican Butterwort Potting Mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, fish food, or diluted foliar fertilizer such as Maxsea every 2-3 weeks
Humidity: 40-75% with adequate airflow
Water: While in its carnivorous phase, provide enough distilled water for the media to remain damp. Reduce watering and allow the media to dry out regularly once the succulent rosette begins to form.
Temperature: 55-85°F
Dormancy: Technically none, however carnivorous leaves are replaced by a smaller succulent rosette for part of the year

Sundew

Light: Full sun or grow light equivalent
Soil: Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, fish food, or diluted foliar fertilizer such as Maxsea every 2-3 weeks
Humidity: 40-75%
Water: Keep wet at all times, provide water that is low in salts and minerals such as rain or distilled water
Temperature: 45-90°F
Dormancy: None

Bladderwort

Light: Light shade or grow light equivalent
Soil: Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix
Feeding: Traps will feed on small organisms in the soil, but occasional foliar feeding with diluted Maxsea fertilizer can also be beneficial
Humidity: 50-90%
Water: Keep soil wet at all times, provide water that is low in salts and minerals such as rain or distilled water
Temperature: 60-90°F
Dormancy: None
