This highly porous Mexican butterwort mix contains crushed coral (calcium) making it a good substrate for butterworts that prefer neutral to slightly alkaline substrates. Fill a whole pot with it or use it as a topdressing for similar effect. Quantities are measured and shipped dry.

Potting mix ingredients:
- Crushed Coral*
- Perlite
- #20 Silica Sand
Potting mix is free from fertilizer additives.
Rinsing media in distilled water prior to use is advisable both to cut down on dust which can be harmful to breathe and to flush out any potential excess mineral content.

Easy to work with seemed a good mixture though the sand seperates from everything fast. I found it best pouring everything into a bowl with water to mix.

This is the best medium for my butterworts. I have a large, wait let me rephrase, I have a massive collection of plants, and sometimes my butterworts take the backseat on maintenance and extra care. Sometimes I run out of distilled water, sometimes my lighting isn’t on the best schedule, and I’ve even managed to uproot an entire plant and tossed another onto the carpet once. You’d never know it. They are so happy in this mix I had to order more to redo my setup. Many of my butterworts have outgrown their pots. They’re just so healthy and they flower regularly. Thanks for a great mix.
