Drosera adelae ‘Giant’ is a large form of the Lance-Leaf Sundew and can grow up to 12 inches in diameter in ideal conditions. It is one of the “Three Sisters of Queensland” along with Drosera prolifera and Drosera schizandra. D. adelae ‘Giant’ is an easy sundew to care for if given plenty of humidity and low light. Exposed roots will produce many plantlets along their length.

Description

Size and packing method: You will receive a sphagnum plug with several young plants each about 0.5 – 1 inch across. The plug will need to be potted in a larger container upon arrival. If selecting with soil mix, you will receive two cups of our prepackaged Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix in addition to the bare root plant. This quantity of soil is roughly enough to fill one 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.5 inch square pot.

Growing requirements

Mature size: Up to 12 inches in diameter
Light: Shade or grow light equivalent
Soil: Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix, Pure peat or peat-sand mix
Feeding: Feed bugs, dried bloodworms, fish food, or diluted foliar fertilizer such as Maxsea every 2-3 weeks
Humidity: 80-90%
Water: Keep wet at all times, provide water that is low in salts and minerals such as rain or distilled water
Temperature: 60-90°F, provide more humidity if temperatures are hotter
Dormancy: None
