The Dionaea muscipula ‘B52’ cultivar can grow enormous traps over 2 inches in length. Though ironically fitting, the flytrap didn’t receive it’s name from the large B-52 bomber, rather ‘B52’ was simply a code the original grower, Henning Von Schmeling, used to identify different specimens. D. muscipula ‘B52’ is a vigorous clone and tends to form clumps of large traps.

I received a nice, healthy plant. Two in fact; there was a tiny one attached to the larger. I don’t expect that every time but it was a pleasant surprise.

This is my Paul Newman of the three plants I ordered – gorgeous, famous, and sensitive. He is a little floppy still after being handled, packaged (which was excellently done) and having traveled to me, but he is starting to show signs of picking his “heads” up and looking for fruit flies.

My skills as a plant parent will be tested with this meticulous and carefully packed and appropriately labeled cutting. Quite delicate to handle but watching the video on potting curious plants made a huge difference. Again, I hope to do this plant justice in taking care of it.

Already had 3-4 large traps! It only took two days for it to settle in and the traps re-opened. So excited to see it grow!!

    Plant arrived on time.
